The Graduate Trainee Visa is a sub-category of the Global Business Mobility (GBM) routes. It allows overseas employees of multinational organisations to undertake a temporary work placement in the UK as part of a structured graduate training programme. This route replaced the former Intra-Company Graduate Trainee Visa and is ideal for recent graduates preparing for a managerial or specialist role within their global organisation.

Who Can Apply?

You may qualify for a Graduate Trainee Visa if you meet the following criteria:

• You have worked for your overseas employer for at least 3 months prior to your application.
• You have a valid Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) issued by a licensed sponsor in the UK.

Visa Duration and Conditions

The Graduate Trainee Visa is typically valid for up to 12 months and cannot be extended beyond this period. However, you can apply again from outside the UK if your employer offers another eligible training placement.

• You must remain employed by the same sponsor during your stay.
• You cannot take on a second job or access public funds.
• You can bring eligible dependants (spouse and children) to join you in the UK.
